Students take closed courses reserved for the Business Honors Program students only (see MihayloBusiness Honors Program Roadmap below ) all bolded classes must be completed in the designated semester. Students may not take courses ahead of or behind the Roadmap for their year.
Incoming freshmen with passing AP scores of 3 or higher do not have to take the bolded course (ex. A passing AP score on Microeconomics = student does not enroll in ECON 201).
4-year students may take up to 2 non-business honors sections (titled ‘flex passes’) of required classes over the 4-year program. Transfer (sophomore or junior) students may take 1 non-business honors section of required classes over the remaining years in the program.
Incoming freshman should target a 3.5 (or higher) unweighted high school GPA. Students joining the program as a sophomore must meet the minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25. Students joining the program as a junior must meet the minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4.
In order to remain a member of the Business Honors Program, students must achieve the minimum cumulative GPA requisite of their respective class level by the end of spring semester each year in order to retain active status and the annual scholarship:
Freshman: 3.25 cumulative GPA by the end of the spring semester of their first year.
Sophomores: 3.4 cumulative GPA by the end of the spring semester of their second year.
Juniors and Seniors: 3.5 cumulative GPA by the end of the spring semester of the third year and maintain throughout the fourth year until graduation.
- Students who do not meet the GPA requisite by the end of the spring semester are given the opportunity to utilize grade forgiveness and/or enroll in summer courses to reinstate their GPA and retain active status in the program prior to the start of the fall semester. In addition, students are eligible to rejoin the program in subsequent semester(s) once the GPA requisite is met.
Students who do not meet the GPA requisite by the end of the spring semester are not eligible to receive the program’s annual scholarship. If the student is able to reinstate their GPA prior to the start of the fall semester, they are permitted to continue in the program but will not receive the scholarship.
